Saqqara, Memphis & Dahshur Pyramids Tour

The Step Pyramid of Djoser at Saqqara, built around 2670 BC for the Third Dynasty pharaoh Djoser, is the earliest of Egypt's great stone pyramids and among the oldest large-scale cut-stone buildings in the world. Designed by the pharaoh's official Imhotep, it rises in six stacked mastaba-like tiers and forms the centerpiece of a larger walled funerary complex.

The Bent Pyramid at Dahshur was built under Pharaoh Sneferu, founder of Egypt's Fourth Dynasty, around 2600 BC. Its distinctive silhouette results from a mid-construction change of angle, from about 54 degrees to 43 degrees, likely to prevent structural collapse. It is the only Old Kingdom pyramid with two original entrances and retains much of its smooth outer limestone casing.
