Places You'll Visit

Black Desert

The Black Desert lies in Egypt's Western Desert, south of Bahariya Oasis, where volcanic activity left dolerite and basalt deposits that weathered and scattered dark stone fragments across ochre-colored hills, some rising close to 100 metres. Popular on Western Desert safaris, the area is usually visited together with the neighboring White Desert and Bahariya Oasis.

Crystal Mountain

Crystal Mountain is a small natural rock arch in Egypt's White Desert, about 120 km from Farafra between Bahariya and Farafra oases. Its surface is studded with sparkling barite and calcite crystals embedded in eroded chalk limestone, rather than quartz as often assumed. A popular stop on White Desert safaris, part of the formation was damaged during nearby road construction.

On January 28th, 2025 we went on the "Salama Colored Canyon + quad bikes" excursion. We booked through WhatsApp while vacationing in Sharm. We loved the excursion, the organization was excellent. They arrived at our hotel even 20 minutes earlier than the stated time. They called our room from reception, we came down quickly and went to pick up other tourists. The minibus was comfortable, the guide was wonderful. Last year we recommended TUT VOYAGES-Travel to our daughter and she booked the private Buggy+Quad Bike safari excursion with her kids. The kids were absolutely thrilled. On our next trip we'll use this online service again.

Yesterday, August 14th, we headed out into the desert for the safari. We were worried it would be really tough, but our worries turned out to be unfounded. Yes, it's hot, but bearable. Everything was well organized. They texted us the pickup time and it was exact. We got a fun crew, a funny driver, and all the vehicles were in working order. We had a great time! Thanks for the excursion!
