Today, 04.03.26, we took our kids on the "Quad Bike Safari to the Sea in Makadi" excursion. We booked it quickly through WhatsApp on TUT VOYAGES' online service. The manager was always reachable. They picked us up right on the minute. Our driver was a young guy who drove exceptionally calmly and carefully, never breaking the speed limit. It took about 40 minutes to reach the site from the Sindbad hotel. The staff on site spoke Russian more or less, everything was understandable. They wrapped our keffiyehs for us (we'd brought our own), we rented goggles for $3 each, a quick briefing, and off we went. A couple more people joined us, so the group ended up small, which was great — no one to wait for. The guide was friendly and attentive, we asked him to film us and he happily took photos/video on our phone. It took about 30 minutes to reach the sea, though I wasn't timing it, honestly. We spent about 20 minutes there, but no one rushed anyone, we walked around, took as many photos as we wanted, and he even let us ride around on our own without the group. The way back felt faster on a different road. It was my first time on a quad bike, I loved it, though I'd pictured the desert a bit differently — this felt more like a quarry — but the kids were absolutely thrilled! On site they casually offered a free 3-minute camel ride. We took photos, rode the camel, and yes, it was free. Though of course a tip is appreciated in Egypt, I had a $5 bill, gave it to them, and they seemed happy. Overall, we loved everything! Thank you.
We took the quad-bike-along-the-sea excursion. It's a genuinely stunning excursion — not only do you ride through the desert and get a real thrill from it, they also bring you to a gorgeous sea view. They picked us up on time, my husband and I rode together, the driver was a super positive guy, and the quad-bike instructor even took great photos and video on our phone. Thank you so much.
