Departing before dawn in a convoy of vehicles, you'll cross the desert to Abu Simbel with a rest stop along the way. Once there, your guide walks you through the Great Temple of Ramses II and the smaller Temple of Hathor dedicated to Queen Nefertari, explaining the incredible 1960s relocation project before the drive back to Aswan.

The Abu Simbel temples are two rock-cut monuments carved into a mountainside on Lake Nasser's west bank, built under Pharaoh Ramesses II around 1264 BC. Threatened by the Aswan High Dam's rising waters, they were cut into over 1,000 blocks and relocated in a UNESCO-led campaign between 1964 and 1968, later inscribed as a World Heritage Site in 1979.

We took the Hurghada city tour excursion. While on vacation in Sharm, we decided to use TUT VOYAGES Travel's services again. For March 17th, 2025 we booked the "Ras Mohammed Reserve and White Island with diving" excursion. Just like last time, the organization was top-notch. On the yacht they gave a detailed briefing on how the dive would go, had us sign a form, and told us about the contraindications. The crew was very upbeat, all the information was delivered in a relaxed way with jokes and banter. We really loved the diving, you swim like you're in an aquarium full of fish. We also snorkeled and admired the corals. Then we sailed to White Island. Yes, it's practically underwater, but it was still interesting to swim from the yacht to that narrow sandy strip. The weather was great, and the sea was almost wave-free. The water color is a fantastic, beautiful shade. We were very happy with the excursion. I'm already picking excursions for our next trip to Egypt. We'll be booking with TUT VOYAGES Travel again.
